I have gone MIA for a bit, MY APOLOGIES – much has happened! I’ll share more later!
Meanwhile…2012 is here with a bang and I am ready! Ready for what though? This is the first year where I didn’t already have a list of resolutions —partly because I started a few things in the last week of December that are resolution-esque things.
I am back to one cheat day a week. (two cheat meals per week OR one cheat day, but my cheat day is not like a blow-out-eat-everything-and-anything-I-want).
Make sure your resolutions are doable AND MEASURABLE!!
Are you as excited about the new year as I am??? I am STOKED!! Bring on the clean eats, bring on the strong workouts, bring on the chaos that I WILL master!!
At the beginning of the year I set my New Year’s Resolutions with gusto! I set a few more than usual and I am definitely thinking I should have stuck to my usual 5-7 rule because whew this is a lot!
Not that this is of any interest, but publicly announcing my goals makes it easier for me to stay accountable.
Though I have new resolutions each year, there are 5 that remain my life goals. I have a reminder on my computer pop up with this list each week to help me stay in check.
To know God
To keep myself in optimum shape
To continue to meet life’s challenges with excitement and perseverance
To always give thanks, acknowledging Job 2:12
To support, encourage and fiercely love my husband
What am I doing to meet these goals? I have a fresh tank of motivation rearing to pursue my goals!
I have post it notes all over my house and pop-ups on my computer – how do you keep focused?!
You can read my list of goals on my “2011 Goals” page
I think of New Year’s resolutions like a list of things I want to do in the new year. Because they are realistic and always things I am excited about, I so enjoy fulfilling my resolutions. 🙂 I love it!
- Get in the Word at least twice a day – an ongoing goal, but this year hey, let’s really make this happen!
- I will be participating in postaday2011 , but my goal is to not just post for the sake of posting. I will be striving to post meaningful content of 3 main categories of fitness: tips&tricks, figure athlete journey, personal thoughts
- Travel – always a yearly goal 🙂
- Perfect my Ilonggo (my family’s native tongue)
- Begin studying Tagalog (Philippine National dialect)
- Produce a piece of art once a month (including writing a children’s book)
- Work on a new piano piece each month – I will create a binder and add the pieces so that at the end of the year I will have collection of my 2011 music
- Play the cello
- Wakeboard more this year
- Knit a beanie
I do not normally make this many resolutions…usually the list is around 5-7 🙂
So every year we, committed folk, must endure the initial 6-7 weeks of our gym overcrowded by New Year’s Resolutionists who THIS year, they swear, they will get into shape. We practice the skill of tongue-biting when we really just want to say, “get off my machine”.
Even how frustrating it is when I have to wait longer for my 50lbs dumbbells from the man who really should have done one more set and even how frustrating it is when I have to wait 6 minutes for one of the women to reach their “whew that was a good workout” point on the treadmill…I still am so proud of them. Even if they lack the commitment, I am proud that they had the umption to come and the desire at all to get in shape. We all start somewhere, no?
For those of us that make it happen year round, let’s be an encouragement to the newbies at our gym! (and not partake in those that grumble about the noobs) 🙂
Looking forward to hearing everyone’s New Year’s Resolutions! Still working on mine…this list is going to be a fun one. I love goal setting!
The new year is fast approaching. I love new year’s resolutions. I just love the excuse to set new goals ^___^ The wheels are spinning…
Meanwhile, Christmas is just around the bend. I have enjoyed knocking out most of my shopping online, lots of free shipping deals! woot! I love sitting down with a cup of coffee, pen at my cheek , eyes upward and thinking about what the recipients would like. For some the answers came swiftly…others were super hard. How do you sneakily ask them what they want for Christmas? I have a few tactics, but I do enjoy bonking my head till I spring a leak of creativity.
All I want for Christmas is a killer booty and triceps of death! It’s a brutal request that keeps me excited about training and keeps perseverance in my heart.
No doubt, Christmas prep throws “routine” in a blender and spits it back out. How do you stay motivated during the rush of Christmas preparations? 🙂
