Mood Swings

Ok so this diet is really getting to my mood.  I noticed that lately I am really tense as it gets closer to my meal time.  I eat every 3 hours ON THE HOUR, so my body knows when to expect food.  I have been way less tolerant. I’ve really been trying to watch it, but I am around SO MANY people and a lot of family ALL the time, so it’s not like I can just keep to myself.  It’s hard to stay focused! I am trying really hard to think before I speak, or try to stay at my desk until I absolutely HAVE to…or avoid people unless I am mentally prepared to smile and breathe.

Makes me sad – I don’t want to be like this, nor do I want people to think I’m just crabby! 😛 How do you combat this?

Susan mentioned St John’s Wart for it’s calming affects.  At this point I want to try anything and everything – I don’t like this mood business! 🙂

  • The brutal diet and saying no to foods I love, I can handle that.
  • The 4am workouts when I just want to sleep, I can handle that.
  • The double workout days even in bad weather, I can handle that.
  • The mood swings negatively affecting the ones I love?….not worth it.  Need a solution, stat.

Gaining Structure

I now have SET rest day that I will treat just as seriously and immovable as my ON days – I know…it’s about time, right?

Sunday – REST

This weekend I will be writing down everything I do in a typical week, then assessing it for things to possibly eliminate.  My trusty friend Michelle gave me wise tips that there is always something to cut out….and you know what she said??…..she flat out told me I don’t get enough sleep! The audacity! haha no jk…She is so right…  She had told me to really try to get more sleep before and I “did”.  I thought increasing my usual 5-6 hours up to 6.5 hours was a great move 😛  Alas….It is not sustaining me.  As proof…my body crashed this week.

So it’s time for change!! Any tips on cutting corners is most welcome, so do share!

Cutting corners in anything…cooking, showering, sleeping…ok just kidding about that last one 🙂

Excitement and Perseverance

The new year is fast approaching.  I love new year’s resolutions.  I just love the excuse to set new goals  ^___^ The wheels are spinning…

Meanwhile, Christmas is just around the bend.  I have enjoyed knocking out most of my shopping online, lots of free shipping deals! woot! I love sitting down with a cup of coffee, pen at my cheek , eyes upward and thinking about what the recipients would like.  For some the answers came swiftly…others were super hard.  How do you sneakily ask them what they want for Christmas? I have a few tactics, but I do enjoy bonking my head till I spring a leak of creativity.

All I want for Christmas is a killer booty and triceps of death! It’s a brutal request that keeps me excited about training and keeps perseverance in my heart.

No doubt, Christmas prep throws “routine” in a blender and spits it back out.  How do you stay motivated during the rush of Christmas preparations? 🙂


My Christmas Wish Is Kickin My Butt

I asked for some smokin buns for Christmas and committed myself to some serious craziness.

I’m now on week 2 and desperately crying for recovery time!

Tuesday: Bis and killer cardio

Today/Wednesday: ow…ow…ow…my legs…my arms….help me!

So at the suggestion of Michelle, I finally buckled and ordered my aminos that my trainer recommended.  I also found these glutamine power chews, by GNC.  I battled with whether or not to get them. They sounded so yummy and exciting.  After bouncing my “eipc issue” off Donloree (AKA voice of reason) it became clear that I should stick to powder form. No corn syrup, no sugar, no additives, just glutamine.

Once again I have to thank Donloree and Michelle – without them I don’t know where I would be!

Course Correction

Project All-I-Want-For-Christmas (AKA Project Booty) is in effect.

Cardio:

Last week, I crammed 4 cardio sessions in 2 days because I had not been diligent, but was determined to stick to my commitment.

I will be diligent this week! That was insane!

Diet:

I then started looking at my diet log.  Not doin’ so hot. I thought I was doing better than I am.  Logging tells it like it is.  So I had my cheat meal last night and decided that I am going to focus hard and wait 10 days (instead of 7) to have my next cheat meal. December 16th is my next cheat meal!

Diligence:

Yesterday I forgot my gym bag, so I had to go home.  I was terrified…I KNEW that once I got home I was not going to have any desire to go back out in the cold to do gym.  Donloree told me not to even take off my coat or anything and just get back in my car.  Autopilot! This was the best advice for me last night.

Now I need to work on my sleep, per my commitment.

Stay the course, Faith Keith…steady. 16.5 weeks.

5 minutes warm up

Adductors 4S) 10R each: #70, #90 #80 #80 + ProjectBooty set: Drop set – 10R 80#, 10R 70, 10R 60, 10R 50, 30R 40

Seated curls 5S) 10R each:  #50, 90, 90, 85, 85 + ProjectBooty set: 15R 85#(broken into 7R+5R+3R)

Seated Leg press 5S)  10R #180, 8R #240, #240, #240 + ProjectBooty set: 8R #240 (barely made it!)

Plie Squat 4S) 10R each: #45, 50, 50, 50 + ProjectBooty set: 50#

+ ProjectBooty 3S Plyo: Squat – Negatives with 20#each hand

+ ProjectBooty 3S Plyo: hamstring curl with swiss ball (not really a plyo, but I needed another ham exercise)


All I Want For Christmas

Donloree, creator of the Bikini or Bust Challenge Spring 2011 Group (of which I am a proud member) asked us what we want for Christmas.

I want a smokin-tight-Dukes-of-Hazzard-booty for Christmas! Is that too much to ask for?

How I will do it:
  • In the Gym
    • Add an extra set (or drop-set) to each exercise
    • Actively monitor whether I should bump up the weight! (Making sure I am failing at 8-10 reps)
    • Add 3S of 2 plyometric exercises to every leg/glute day, with excellent form
    • Cardio 4 times per week
  • In the Kitchen
    • Make SURE I limit my treats to ONCE per week (like my nutrition plan SAYS) and ENJOY my other meals
  • After Hours
    • Respect my booty: Stretch properly before and after; get great sleep so I can TEAR IT UP at the gym
