Here we go! Day 1 of Phase 1! You ready to workout with me (and Jamie Eason ^_^)? I will be posting the links to Bodybuilding.com’s resources for their LiveFit Trainer as well as my own comments. I will try my best to make it VERY clear who the author of the content is, but if you have any questions or comments please let me know!
Click here for the diet, diet tips, video about the supplement suggestions and even clips for exercises if you do not know how to do them properly.
I will not be taking any of the suggested supplements but I WILL be taking a multi-vitamin, Super B-complex and Fish Oil 300mg daily. This is merely a preference for me during my pregnancy.

I have gone MIA for a bit, MY APOLOGIES – much has happened! I’ll share more later!
Meanwhile…2012 is here with a bang and I am ready! Ready for what though? This is the first year where I didn’t already have a list of resolutions —partly because I started a few things in the last week of December that are resolution-esque things.
I am back to one cheat day a week. (two cheat meals per week OR one cheat day, but my cheat day is not like a blow-out-eat-everything-and-anything-I-want).
Make sure your resolutions are doable AND MEASURABLE!!
Are you as excited about the new year as I am??? I am STOKED!! Bring on the clean eats, bring on the strong workouts, bring on the chaos that I WILL master!!
At the beginning of the year I set my New Year’s Resolutions with gusto! I set a few more than usual and I am definitely thinking I should have stuck to my usual 5-7 rule because whew this is a lot!
Not that this is of any interest, but publicly announcing my goals makes it easier for me to stay accountable.
Though I have new resolutions each year, there are 5 that remain my life goals. I have a reminder on my computer pop up with this list each week to help me stay in check.
To know God
To keep myself in optimum shape
To continue to meet life’s challenges with excitement and perseverance
To always give thanks, acknowledging Job 2:12
To support, encourage and fiercely love my husband
What am I doing to meet these goals? I have a fresh tank of motivation rearing to pursue my goals!
I have post it notes all over my house and pop-ups on my computer – how do you keep focused?!
You can read my list of goals on my “2011 Goals” page
This was our Sunday…it was snowing when we got out of church, so I quickly packed up my flute and collaborated with my mom about soup for lunch! So fun! Texas does not see snow much, so when it snows its a big deal around here. My hubs noted that it was a perfect day for a board game or movie – ooooh we were excited! On the way home we looked at each other, listed all those wonderful things again and then said simultaneously…”and gym”.
and then this is what we did after the gym….
THEN we watched a movie with my favorite cheat meal, pizza from Papa Murphy’s (the make it fresh and you bake it at home). Dedication pays off!
I hope all my fellow Texans are enjoying this bit of snow! To those in the arctic…In honor of you I started my run outdoors and could NOT feel my legs – wow!! You guys are TOUGH.
2010 started out to be a great year and it resulted in a very life changing course correction!
Big plans to run my first half marathon were tanked after a snowboarding trip souvenir: a broken tailbone. This road block however, sparked the new series of events leading to an entire course correction. I learned during recovery that I love staying at home and if/when we have children I know I now want to be a stay at home mom. Also was blessed by a new found accountability partner in my walk with God. I finally had time for art again and had time to reflect on fitness goals. Why stop at half? I knew I was capable of more, so I immediately put full marathon on the list. I discovered that I wanted to pursue bodybuilding. Begin training with a pro, check! Get in to the best shape of my life to date, check!
2010 taught me that I was doing much of my life for myself…by God’s grace and prompting I was able to refocus my life back to where it needed to be. My quiet times have never been so consistent. I am not perfect, but now I have accountability and opportunity to make course corrections when I notice I fall off. What a GREAT year of learning! Amazing how God is so patient with us 😀
I am excited to see what the Lord has in store for me in 2011…what imperfections will He choose to refine? What weakness of mine will be put to the test?…I am not perfect, but I do feel more prepared to face the new year than I was at the beginning of 2010. Let us press forward not as achieved, but achieving!
I think of New Year’s resolutions like a list of things I want to do in the new year. Because they are realistic and always things I am excited about, I so enjoy fulfilling my resolutions. 🙂 I love it!
- Get in the Word at least twice a day – an ongoing goal, but this year hey, let’s really make this happen!
- I will be participating in postaday2011 , but my goal is to not just post for the sake of posting. I will be striving to post meaningful content of 3 main categories of fitness: tips&tricks, figure athlete journey, personal thoughts
- Travel – always a yearly goal 🙂
- Perfect my Ilonggo (my family’s native tongue)
- Begin studying Tagalog (Philippine National dialect)
- Produce a piece of art once a month (including writing a children’s book)
- Work on a new piano piece each month – I will create a binder and add the pieces so that at the end of the year I will have collection of my 2011 music
- Play the cello
- Wakeboard more this year
- Knit a beanie
I do not normally make this many resolutions…usually the list is around 5-7 🙂
So every year we, committed folk, must endure the initial 6-7 weeks of our gym overcrowded by New Year’s Resolutionists who THIS year, they swear, they will get into shape. We practice the skill of tongue-biting when we really just want to say, “get off my machine”.
Even how frustrating it is when I have to wait longer for my 50lbs dumbbells from the man who really should have done one more set and even how frustrating it is when I have to wait 6 minutes for one of the women to reach their “whew that was a good workout” point on the treadmill…I still am so proud of them. Even if they lack the commitment, I am proud that they had the umption to come and the desire at all to get in shape. We all start somewhere, no?
For those of us that make it happen year round, let’s be an encouragement to the newbies at our gym! (and not partake in those that grumble about the noobs) 🙂
Looking forward to hearing everyone’s New Year’s Resolutions! Still working on mine…this list is going to be a fun one. I love goal setting!
